- Skyrim is good, but not great. Played it for three days straight and haven't really touched it since. Overall it's better than Oblivion, but they took out a lot of things from Oblivion that could have been reinvented instead of removed.
- Saint's Row The Third is the best of the series in terms of gameplay (it is actually a functioning piece of software on a PC), but it may be the worst in terms of story. And the first Saint's Row was awful, so The Third is pretty disappointing. It's not a bad game by any means, but it seems to have lost a lot of the heart of the second game. Either that or it seems like they either ran out of time, money, or sense. Fun game, but very disjointed and disappointing story.
- Modern Warefare 3 and Battlefield 3 are both awful. This is a war one cannot win.
- STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN A DOTA 2 INVITE DESPITE SIGNING UP AS SOON AS SIGNING UP WAS AN OPTION. WHY DOES VALVE HATE ME!? DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG!? I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN THIS LEAGUE OF LEGENDS WORLD ANYMOOOOOOOOOORE!
- King of Fighters XIII is a really great fighting game, but it's another game that should have been at a lower price point. Mortal Kombat is really the only fighting game I can recommend to people who aren't hardcore fighting game players, and it has nothing to do with the actual fighting. Played one game online with a full connection and haven't touched online play since. Someday this curse will be broken.
- Started watching Breaking Bad on Netflix. I wonder when Lois is going to catch Hal doing these terrible things.

Single player of Battlefield 3 is terrible. The game kills you for trying to be smart, which is what Battlefield is all about. It's an EA campaign, full of invisible walls and bullshit deaths. Quick-time events and BULLSHIT design. On Hard, it is by far the most unfair game I have ever played. Enemies are borderline omniscient; it never gives you the right weapon; and since the game RESETS your gear several times a mission, planning ahead by GETTING the right weapon is meaningless. It killed me for walking too close to an enemy I was supposed to knife. Yeah. Apparently the script said I'm supposed to botch the kill and set the alarm off.
ReplyDeleteMultiplayer is good unless you can get a team together that communicates, then it's freaking amazing. DICE is constantly improving the game and engine, and the new expansion is excellent. It has bugs, and some things need adjustment or fixing, but it's a new engine. I can forgive it. The main problem is CODpieces ruining everything because they have no concept of teamwork or strategy. Their K/D is all that matters to them. And DICE is doing all it can to encourage teamwork in-game.
Battlefield 3 basically proves the cataclysmic difference between DICE and EA.
The D&D thing sounds pretty sweet, and should be much more interesting than Spoony's new Counter Monkey shtick.
